RAYNUAUD’S DISEASE AND HBOT “PVD”
The most common cause for circulatory problems is PVD, Peripheral Vascular Diseases.
The most notable symptom of PVD is limb pain, in the calf or calves. Other signs of PVD include weak pulse in the effected area. Still other signs include, pale or reddish blue skin color.
Types of include “RAYNUAUDS DISEASE” In this condition, spasms occur in the arteries in the extremities, especially the fingers, toes, ears, and nose. It can be brought in by emotional upsets or exposure to cold. These problems are all caused by the reduction of blood flow in the effected limb.
How HBOT may help treat PVD and Raynuauds Disease:
HBOT helps patients with PVD in several ways, the use of HBOT leads to the development of new capillaries, tiny blood vessels linking arteries and veins. This allows a greater amount of oxygen to be delivered to the affected tissue, which in turn, results in more oxygen being absorbed by the tissues. Hypoxia is relieved and the swelling decreases. In addition, HBOT forces oxygen into the blood plasma and the lymph, which normally do not cirry oxygen. The body that the oxygen that is normally carried by the red blood cells more readily uses this dissolved oxygen. That’s because oxygen carried in fluid is immediately available to the body’s cells, while oxygen in the red blood cells requires the use of energy t make it available.
As a result, the additional oxygen, the tissues function more normally. The effects of HBOT can readily be seen in the way the patients skin and nail beds steadily turn pink or red in color. HBOT also improves the blood’s chemical properties, and appears to reduce the bloods tendency to clump.
