RSD and Lyme Disease

My diagnosis was RSD in the summer of 2006. My pain was so great that I had to fly on the airplane standing up all the way for 5 hours. I was unable to sit at all. Just the pain of some one walking by during the flight caused great pain in my spine. There was no pain relief and no medicine worked. Most of my doctors thought I was just insane and my family was beginning to think the same. I went from doctor to doctor however no one could help me.
I flew to California and Rapid Recovery Hyperbarics. I began Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy at once for the RSD. I had great pain in my ears and was unable to clear or equalize them. Wonderful Dr Underwood and Susan figured out that I had reflux and stomach acid was coming up and inflaming my estuation tubes. They found a rare study published showing how the stomach acid can cause great ear pain. Dr Underwood gave me medicine and I was able to clear and equalize with great ease! I had no more problems with my middle ear or no pain.
Later, during the treatment Susan suggested that I have a lyme test at Igenex lab. Dr Underwood agreed that my symptoms compared with Lyme Disease. Lyme is called the great deceiver and mimics many types of disorders. Memory, joint pain as well. I remember being bit at one point and I did have many symptoms. The test results showed that I was very highly positive for Lyme Disease. I was started on IV antibiotics plus vitamins and minerals. I continued with Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy using the protocol for Lyme Disease.
I improved dramatically and was able to sit for the first time in a year with out pain! I even was able to go shopping and have my family down for a visit. Lyme disease does take a while to treat. Different pulsing protocols and Hyperbaric Oxygen is the key.
Repairing the damage to the bones and joints with good nutrition, vitamins and minerals during the Hyperbaric Oxygen is another very important factor. However, I improved to the point of convincing my treating Physician at my home to continue the IV therapy. I am almost 100% when I left for home!
I just want to thank Dr Underwood and Susan for their loving devotion and dedication to my health. Exhausting long Hours and non-stop weeks of hard work to which I could never say “Thank you enough!!” Had it not been for their insight and commitment to my case I NEVER would have found out that I had both Lyme and RSD!!
